Rogers Corporation and Optodot Corporation Entered into a Strategic Development Agreement

ROGERS, Conn. -- Rogers Corporation (NYSE:ROG) and Optodot Corporation of Boston, Massachusetts USA have announced that the two companies have entered into an agreement to focus on technology and business development of new membrane film products for battery and energy storage applications. The agreement will have Rogers and Optodot working together to finalize the product development and Rogers selling the separator products. Rogers also retains an option to purchase Optodot’s membrane technology. The alliance between the companies is in response to the rapid growth of energy storage requirements in transportation, military, and consumer electronics. [read more]

Optodot Corporation Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Optodot Corporation started operations in 2001 with funding from Seed Capital Partners and strategic support from Ron Schreiber of Seed Capital, Bruce Anderson of Ignite! High-Tech Startups, and Doug Zingale of Greenberg Traurig. Optodot would like to recognize the contributions of these individuals as well as its business partners, consultants, employees and customers over the past 5 years. Optodot had a successful year in 2005 with commercial sales of its IR optical technology for energy conserving window films, security documents, and custom IR films. The company is looking forward to continued growth in 2006 with its nanoporous membranes for lithium battery separators and its IR optical films.

Optodot Corporation Awarded DOE SBIR Phase I Contract

Optodot Corporation was recently awarded a nine-month $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract from the Department of Energy (DOE) to develop safety shutdown separators for protection of lithium-ion batteries against thermal runaway.
